Sara Eliassen studied literature at the University of Oslo and holds a MFA in filmmaking from San Francisco Art Institute. She recently completed the Whitney Independent Study Program as a studio artist. In collaboration with Lilja Ingolfsdottir, Sara made a series of anti-commercials that infiltrated commercial channels throughout Norway in 2007. Her short film Still Birds premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2009 and has been screened at several international film festivals, amongst them Sundance 2010.
